1. Determining Our User and Use Case
The design challenge prompt was “Living one-handed in a two-handed world.”
We focused on helping individuals with one arm and no access to a dishwasher to wash dishes.
The Design Sprint
In the Design Sprint Challenge, my team had to identify a user, determine their needs, develop a solution, and benchmark this against existing market solutions within a 24-hour time frame. We ultimately won first place.
3. Benchmarking Existing Solutions
We then benchmarked market solutions to identify our opportunity for innovation: washing rough stains and a variety of dishware.
5. Building and Iterating
6. The Final Prototype
First Place!
2. Understanding User Needs
We then journey-mapped how one-handed individuals currently wash their dishes to identify pain points in the process.
